We will look at his life and playing career. Guitar focus will be his melody lines and unique inflections that set him apart from other contemporaries. This month's Zoom clinic will be on Sunday April 27th at 2pm pst. I will be profiling Blues guitarist Big Bill Broonzy. Bill is one of the most influential Blues guitarists. Spanning a career from the 1920's till the late 50's. We will look at his biography, acoustic and electric lines, and some of the players that recorded with him including a young George Barnes. I am looking forward to seeing you guys.

This month's Zoom clinic will be on Sunday March 30th at 2pm pst. I will be profiling Jazz guitarist Dave Barbour. Dave, a child prodigy is know for his sideman work, but most notably with his wife Peggy Lee. This composite study will look at his phrasing, from his sides with Charlie Ventura, and as a leader with Peggy. I enjoy his relaxed, methodical approach to the guitar. Looking forward to seeing you guys.

I will be profiling Oscar and Johnny Moore. Specifically, looking at Blues solos that highlight their personalities. Both brothers worked independently, and together. Sometimes the influence of family fosters a similar musical voice, but in the case of Oscar and Johnny both have unique styles that I am looking forward to exploring.

I will be profiling the style of Les Paul. Specifically, I will be looking at his career beginning with his sides with Georgia White through his time with Fred Waring, and his live performance at the Philharmonic with Nat King Cole. This clinic will mine ideas that we can apply to our Blues and Swing guitar playing.

I will be profiling Louis and Dave Myers. Specifically, looking at how their collaboration rhythmically and harmonically helped define post-war Chicago Blues. We will study the lines used with Junior Wells, Little Walter, and after. The interconnectivity of bass lines, chords, and melody are a recipe that is essential.

I will be profiling Robert Junior Lockwood my biggest influence in Chicago Blues. Instantly identifiable by his lines, and rhythmic motifs. We will study these through his career as a sideman with Little Walter, and Sonny Boy, to his collaborations with Sunnyland Slim and Otis Spann.

This month's Zoom clinic will be on Sunday August 3rd 2pm pst. I will be profiling Jump Blues pioneer T-Bone Walker. This profile will look at his influence on the genre, biography, and history. His lyrical lines and complex rhythms can be a hard code to crack. I will approach his playing with rhythmic motifs that are attached to chords. This strategy will be easy to quote in performance. Gonna be a fun one.

This month's Zoom clinic will be on Saturday May 31st at 2pm pst. I will be profiling Western Swing Guitarist Roy Lanham. Roy is known for his work in the Whippoorwills, The Sons of the Pioneers, and as a leader. He was also a successful session guitarist. His distinctive sound is marked with chordal and single note solos. We will look at some of his ideas, and explore how to use them. See you guys soon.

This month's Zoom clinic will be on Sunday September 21st 2pm pst. I will be profiling the early style and career of BB King. His lines have a complexity and attitude that are ear catching. I will approach his playing with signature lines framed from chord structures. We will trace the musicians that influenced his early playing and biography. The examples will be quotable. I am excited to see some of you.

Use Skype, Zoom or FaceTime to get one-on-one lessons. The process is simple. We schedule a time to hook up for our lesson through email or podia messenger. The requirements are basic. A camera, and a decent internet connection. Not to be misleading I can't show you how to play guitar in 7 days, but you can learn about some cool guitar players and a couple licks in a session with me. Zoom lessons can be recorded.

This monthly subscription will explain  The Herb Ellis Method books.  The three volumes will be referenced collectively, not chronologically.  I find Herb's method is similar to how others from the same and earlier period navigated the guitar.  He covers Blues, Rhythm Changes, and The song "All the Things you Are"  We will gain confidence understanding the structure system, and implement it through exercises.

This is a monthly subscription explaining "Mickey Baker's Complete Course in Jazz Guitar".  This book has been the mystical guide for Blues guitarists.  I remember Little Charlie suggesting this book. Plenty of people demonstrate the lessons in this book, but don't offer explanation.  My goal is to offer reasons and analysis of his lessons. Also a private forum is included to interact with other subscribers.

This is a 40 minute downloadable  progressive video lesson for Jump Blues beginners. I cover different comping ideas, and how I approach playing leads utilizing chord structures.  I cap off the lesson by playing some derivative Bill Jennings lines.  I will say this module is designed for beginners, or for people who are new to the genre.  This product is helpful for setting a foundation.

I am a huge Robert Lockwood Jr. Lonnie Johnson, and Lightnin Hopkins fan. These guys just do it for me. They never get old and I'm always moved. Even though I'm a jump blues guy I cannot go through a gig and not play a Lump or grinder. Even though this lesson can be used for solo guitar playing I use these guitar lines in my band. I love how all these guitar lines are melodic and stick in my head.

I am proud to inrtroduce my 3rd module of lessons covering Teddy Bunn and Rene Hall. This is a 3 video module covering the most signature ideas of these guitar players. I cover theory and application of these ideas. I cover Teddy Bunn's electric ideas with Hadda Brooks, and Edgar Hayes. I also spend a video explaining some of Rene's ideas that he used with the dominoes.

This is a good introduction for Blues pickers to break outside of the 12 bar form. So many great players played Rhy. Changes and somehow it's no longer a popular form in Blues today. I know when I heard Little Charlie years ago play this progression I was totally consumed. More so I wanted it to sound like vintage Swing not modern jazz. Think Charlie Christian and Tiny Grimes
